Ellis Lakeside Campground Reviews & Ratings

  • The Pull-thru Sites were level and large enough for our 34' and to leave it hooked onto our truck. Beautiful park with the lake and nice deck to look out over it! Best of all was the price!!!

  • It was busy today. But still very peaceful and serene. I walked down there to escape my own 4 walls, and I enjoy the Canadian Geese. But, they flew the coop today. Too many people. It's an extremely nice well kept place to camp. Very nice clean shower house. Rates I think are very cheap for what you get. Lots of huge ancient cottonwood trees 100+years old everything is in the shade from the sun.

  • What a gem! Right off of the interstate yet feels like a small town get-away. It is right on a lake (or creek) with a dam. It has a large grassy area across the way for some walking. You can easily walk into town. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in June. We walked into town in the morning for coffee and breakfast at Riverside Espresso and Cafe (also, highly recommend). This site is first come first serve, no reservations. Payment was $20/night with water and electric hookups - dump available near bathhouse. Payment was on the honor system as there were no employees at the park. Grounds are well kept and patrolled often by the police since it is owned and run by the city of Ellis. Would highly recommend!

  • Close to I70 if you need a quick stop over. Beautiful shade trees along the water. We wish tenters could use the electric sites.

  • Excellent spot to stop for the night. It's just inside town... So you're not right next to the highway listening to traffic all night! Trees, fishing, water hookups, showers, flush toilets, RV Pump out. Pretty much the only non-hotel to stay at when traveling across Kansas. Pair up your visit with the Hays Water Park that's about 12 minutes away.
