Just a few miles away from San Diego is the coastal town of Encinitas. Like most of the coastal towns in California, Encinitas has plenty of water sports and places to relax. The Encinitas Beach stretches along the length of the city but swimming is allowed only in some parts. One place where you can both swim and surf is the Cardiff State Park. Do not forget to check out the Magic Carpet Ride or the statue of Cardiff Cook, one of the highly criticised statues in the country. The white sand beach on the north end of Encinitas is often visited by people on moonlit nights. Art lovers can check out the Lux Art Institute and Sand Dieguito Heritage Museum for some pretty artworks. Head to Encinitas if you want a peaceful seaside holiday in California.
