Paratge Natural l'Albera is a nature preserve known for its diverse terrains and scenic beauty. It was created on March 10, 1986, and consists structurally of two parts: the western (Requesens - Baussitges), an area densely populated with trees, and a dry one (Sant Quirze de Colera - Balmeta), with a dominance of bush vegetation. It has a total area of 4,108 hectares. The varied physiography and vegetation make this place one of a kind, and hence a large number of people visit this nature reserve on a regular basis.
