  • We liked this so much that we did it twice during our stay! It is a unique experience to ride this tram! It takes about 3.5 minutes to get up, and the views the whole way are amazing! Once up there, you can use view finders to see other mountains up close, walk easy trails, feed chipmunks, climb some rocks, visit the coffee/gift shop and find many unique photo opportunities along the way! When you're done, you stand in line to take the 3.5 minute ride back down the mountain, which is such a unique experience! I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area. I have read that there are times where long wait times are experienced in line to ride it, but we used the information on google to find the least busy times and didn't wait more than 10-15 minutes each time. There is a tram operator in each car. We asked ours about the mountains and he pointed out and named each mountain - it was helpful and impressive! Note: I was initially scared to ride this thing up and down the mountain, but am so glad I did! I worried about safety (it still doesn't make sense to me how it works so well!) and getting motion sickness. I didn't feel motion sickness once, and I researched the history of it a little more to find out information about how it operates and the safety features.

  • The line, though long, was worth the wait. The mountain range view from the top and all the chubby chipmunks were amazing! Rained all the way up, still felt safe and secure. I remember going once as a kid and still love it as an adult. Fun for the entire family.

  • I definitely recommend doing this. Just be aware you may have to wait awhile to get to the top and to get back down. It is worth the wait, though. At the top there is a cafe and gift shop. There are also little trails you can take for a beautiful walk. The best part ,though, is feeding all the chipmunks! You can buy a bag of peanuts in the cafe and find yourself a spot outside and watch them run up to you. They're so cool but of course you should always be safe and respect the wildlife. Also, due to all the peanut shells on the ground, I would not go if you have a peanut allergy. We've been twice and enjoyed both times. Today was kinda busy and we spent about 3 hours (from when we first got in line to when we got back to our car) and we didnt take any trails. Beautiful views at the top as well!

  • I've been coming up to and staying in Estes Park my entire life, and I finally did the tram. Can't believe I've waited this long; what an easy and fun way to experience the town and beautiful surroundings. The coffee shop has great coffee and super friendly staff. The views are superlative and they provide peanuts to feed the "wildlife" at the top of the privately owned mountain. Highly recommend this experience, shoot for early morning or late afternoon to avoid long waits / crowds.

  • A half hour wait bought us some amazing views, well worth it. Even better when the first sign you see eat the top points to coffee and gifts! Great little cafe at the top, top quality coffee and fancy sandwiches. But don't go for the food, the views are simply spectacular.
