  • The worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. 1) never charged my security deposit for the car (kind of a plus actually) 2) Didn't ask if I had insurance or if I would be needing rental insurance until I was in the vehicle about to leave and they said "oh wait, are you on your parents insurance? you have insurance right? and it's probably full coverage huh?" I responded "probably" and that seemed enough for them. 3) registration in the car was expired, making it difficult for me to obtain a temporary parking pass, when I called about an updated registration they informed me that they don't keep them in house and suggested I call corporate and have them mail me a copy (because that is for some reason my job?). Then said if I was to be pulled over I would use the rental agreement as proof of registration (something they maybe should have said when I got the car). 4) I have been on hold with them for 14 minutes and counting right now for the answer to a simple question.

  • Confirmed rental car pickup the day before and day of rental, no cars available- told, after cornering staff, that perhaps, a car would be available the following day. I was to drive to San Francisco on business and had meeting and reservation at hotel. Oh yes, I was provided an option to drive to Corvallis and pick up vehicle from competitor for an unknown rate. Cannot believe any business can operate in such a manner! Horrible treatment!! Took a flight at huge expense to San Francisco . Wish I could give negative stars. Would be negative 5. Will NEVER use Hertz again. Pathetic.

  • Would give it zero stars if possible. Duane "helped" my girlfriend and I. We had a reservation to pick up a car at 7:30am. I am currently writing this at 9:30am while I continue to wait for my vehicle to be ready. There was no explanation given other than "We have no cars to give you until someone returns one." We called in a few minutes ago wondering if any had been dropped off and were told that we may not get a car until 4pm. To not honor a reservation is already terrible customer service, but they also were incredibly rude when we voiced our frustration. Duane went as far as to raise his voice at us when we told him that it's surprising that the company would take a reservation for 7:30am if they don't have any cars in their lot the night before. He threw his hands in the air, and loudly said "We don't have any cars! I can't tell you anything else!" Then, without any other words, he stormed away from the desk and into the back (employees only) section. We did not see him again. Then Tyrell came to "help" us. He said that he didn't have any cars but would reach out to other rental agencies and other Hertz branches.....It's been two hours now and no call, no news, no nothing from the manager of the branch. Our plans are completely ruined as we were on a very strict schedule and so far, nobody at Hertz gives a damn that we're without a car that we paid for and reserved.
