About 25 minutes from Downtown, Jane and Doug, who run the farm, have been at Fairbanks for decades. In that time, they have nurtured a deep love for Alaska and its treasures, in particular, reindeers. The magnificent animals are treated like family at the ranch. During your visit, Jane will take you on a walk through the birch forest where the beasts live, and impart deep insight into the animal's adaptations in the Alaskan climate. Reported experiences of this walk are almost universally enthusiastic; it's said to be one of Fairbank's indispensable attractions. After the walk, there's hot coffee/chocolate back at the ranch.

Running Reindeer Ranch Reviews & Ratings
If I could give it 10 stars I absolutely would! We had a blast interacting with the reindeer! Walking through the forest with the reindeer just doing their thing was so incredible to witness. Jane is hilarious and awesome, a great guide and reindeer mama. Elsa is super knowledgeable and funny as well! Before and after the walk, they spent time educating us all about reindeer and caribou which was fascinating! You certainly get your money's worth! If you were to go in the early summer you'd have a good chance at seeing a baby reindeer. If I'm ever in the area again I will make it a point to see Jane and her heard on another tour.
Running Reindeer with Jane was phenomenal! Jane is a fabulous story teller, keeping your interest for 3 hours. She not only knows everything about each of her reindeer, she loves them, too! The reindeer are completely comfortable around people, as Jane said, they are tame but not trained. Many photo opportunities! Those reindeer eyes are incredible! Such varying personalities in each animal. I highly recommend this tour. Next to seeing a magnificent Aurora and flying to the Arctic, strolling with and petting on the reindeer in a birch forest was definitely a highlight of my Alaska trip! And her cookies are divine!
This is worth every penny! My husband and I happened to stumble upon this when booking other tours and we are so glad we did! Both women were very nice and very informative. I absolutely LOVE Rocket!! Thank you so much for such a memorable time!
A great, quaint little place to see reindeer and learn about them! The people are very nice and friendly. You can take pictures and even pet the reindeer when they get close. Be careful though, the reindeer love to randomly run and you have to stay vigilant to make sure you aren't run over by them! Overall, great 2 hour tour!
One of the best experiences we've ever done! My husband and I both loved Jane and her reindeer. Walking with them through the forest, having reindeer frolic freely around you is magical. Jane absolutely loves her animals and her reindeer enthusiasm is catching. The running reindeer ranch is truly a paradise for reindeer. The animals are healthy and live in a wonderful environment. They are safe and gentle creatures--nothing to worry about even if you bring kids to this experience. Jane is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to reindeer and taught us so much about reindeer. She also made fresh choc chip cookies and lemonade for everyone and invited us into her reindeer ranch after the walk. We will definitely be back!
