Fountainhead Regional Park Reviews & Ratings

  • Beautiful park trails and awesome waterways. You definitely have to know a thing or two about boating, kayaking, or paddle boarding as the staff aren’t always there to help launch. Last time we rented a Jon boat and they gave us the motor, battery, and life jackets and told us to just pick a boat and go. There wasn’t anyone available to help attach the motor and battery or even double check to make sure everything was secure. I’ve boated for years however I’ve never attached a motor or battery before and would have preferred some guidance. Other than that, the water is clean although not for swimming, but great for fishing or just kayaking and taking in the scenery.

  • Excellent park. Staff were super helpful at orienting me for hiking, friendly and informative. The hiking trails were well-marked with only minor exceptions. The bike trails are beautifully designed and extensive. Mid-week was a great time to hike, with no one else on the trails.

  • Well marked paths - trails have lots of hills and bends so it's a good compromise for those who like a challenge but not intimidating to newbies or casual hikers like myself. Trails are well marked and doesnt get too busy if you like to avoid crowds. The place also has trails for bikes and horses definitely has variety.

  • High rating because the trail running is nice. For the area, the trails get fairly technical about a mile from the trail head. I was able to go on a nice out and back to the next parking lot that was ~13 miles round trip.

  • For a visit to the outdoors, this is a great place to enjoy a hike, boating, or fishing. For fishermen (amateur to pro) there's an awesome pier, with benches and plenty of room to spread out. You can while away a few good hours without realizing it. The bathrooms are clean (I experienced them midday on a weekday, YMMV). I didn't order anything at the snack shop, but they had an exceptional menu. Boats are available by the snack shop, along with a game of minigolf. Very nice area for the great outdoors.
