Stephen C. Foster State Park is an interesting place that covers a land of almost 80 acres. As it is part of the Okefenokee Swamp, you will get to see the delicate ecosystem of the swamp area while exploring the park. It is also used as a camping site and provides several picnic shelters as well. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and birdwatching are also popular activities around here. Consider stopping by Suwannee River Visitor Center to know more about this area and see the local animals.

  • Rustic and wild! There are a ton of alligators and other wildlife. Very picturesque. Felt completely safe kayaking even with the alligators. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You could ask Zach any questions about wildlife and he knew the answers.

  • One of my favorite places to visit in Georgia. Top 3 parks. Stayed in the cabins on this trip. Loved them. Plenty of space. Nothing fancy but nice and clean. Enjoyed the swamp, sunsets, nighttime walks with the stars. Of course alligators a plenty. This trip also rented a john boat, great experience too. In the past have kayaked and canoed and that's great fun too. Staff is very friendly. No complaints about this park. Keep in mind if you stay the night you are miles from stores so come prepared. Park store has some essentials though. Love the drive in something like 18 miles from your last turn to the road ending at the swamp. Will be back I'm sure. Thanks for another great adventure.

  • AWESOME EXPERIENCE! BRING THE TELESCOPE! Gators. Stars, clean, friendly, great campsites definitely recommend. Go early in the year! Make sure you go before may! To beat the bugs and have a full swamp

  • This is a very well presented park. Neat, tidy and in a lovely setting. The swamp tours with a park ranger are affordable and informative. Rental boats and canoes are available and to really get the most out of this location I would highly recommend one of these options. Love this park!

  • Awesome, if you would like to get close to nature this is the place. We enjoyed the river cruise, our guide pointed out multiple wildlife and foliage. Available adventures kayaking, hiking, star gazing and a whole lot of quiet.
