Situated in Hartford County in the Farmington Valley area of central Connecticut, United States, Farmington is a dense town with a total population of around 26,700 (as of the 2020 census). The town is spread across an area of 28.8 square miles. The area sits 20 miles south of Bradley International Airport, which means that the town can be reached via a 2-hour car journey from Boston and New York City. Initially settled in 1640, Farmington is home to the worldwide headquarters of multiple large organizations, such as Carvel and the Otis Elevator Company. There are numerous notable educational infrastructures, such as the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington High School, Miss Porter’s School, and Tunxis Community College. Not to mention, the local bus service is provided by Connecticut Transit Hartford.
