  • St Benedicts Brew Works is a great hidden gem of a place in Ferdinand/Southern Indiana. First off Location: being on the grounds of the Monestary for the Sisters of St Benedict is awesome in itself and a beautiful setting. Brew/Drinks: if you like craft brew, you will like just about any of their selections. I talked to the owner who is incredibly friendly and he said his philosophy is he'd rather make take their time to perfect smaller batches of great quality brew than compromise for larger batches and risk getting a lesser quality beer. They typically have an IPA, Stout, Blonde, and a Red always available with other specialty batch/seasonal brews. You can buy refillable growlers and take some home if you find one you really enjoy. They do offer local wines for those looking for other options. They make their own rootbeer which the kids love and my wife and I do too. Food: they do have a very limited menu of pizza and bar food, but like the beer it's all about quality not quantity. The pizza is a thinner crust style which outstanding and I suggest the pretzel bites with beer cheese. Seating: they do have limited seating inside for under 21, but do have an outside area open to anyone. They don't take reservations, but honestly I wouldn't expect them to. Staff: As I mentioned the owner is great and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your dinner. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. Last tip, fyi you do order food/drinks at the bar and seat yourself. I highly suggest you check them out.

  • Had a great time here with the family. Great breadsticks and the pizza was awesome. PLUS BEER AND WINE! After dinner we stayed and played a couple rounds of Jenga. Board games are available to play in the dining room. We felt very at home. Staff was clean, friendly, and helpful. We look forward to returning. Thanks!

  • Loved it! Very nice wine and wings! Pizza was delicious, crisp crust and lots of flavor. Take your friends, raise a glass, eat some great food and play the board games available. The grounds of the monastery are beautiful. The grotto was lit for Christmas and was so beautiful.

  • Very friendly and good beer! The monastery is a wonderful backdrop for a cold drink on the patio.

  • Great place. This is what Google maps can do for you. Beer is fantastic. Saw the sign so I turned left!!
