Translated as “Tower of Hope”, Afkule is an ancient monastery situated in Kayakoy. Built by Ayios Elefterios- a monk from 11th century-the whole structure has been built with stones. The ruins of the structure feature separated carved rooms as well as a stable. As for the location, the site offers spectacular views of the open Mediterranean Sea and the curve of the earth’s horizon in the distance. Do visit it if history and nature interest you.
