A small village near Fethiye, Oludeniz is known for its Blue Lagoon, a picture perfect location revelling in paradisiacal beauty. Translated from Turkish as the “Dead Sea”, the Blue Lagoon is a national natural reserve and is popular for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine. Frequently rated among the top 5 beaches in the world by travellers and journals alike, the place holds a significant position in tourism to Turkey. One of the most photographed sites in Turkey, the lagoon is known for its still Mediterranean waters.
