Stegastein Viewpoint, Flam Reviews

  • To get here if you drive, it is a narrow paved road with a few switchbacks all worth the effort, a small parking lot with public WC as well. If you have the time, keep driving up until you reach the summit. Above the timberline the landscape turns "moon-like" with barren rock strewn grasses and wildflowers. We visited in late August and a wool sweater or a fleece jacket are recommended. As is a camera!

  • This dramatic Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the Aurlandsfjord. It is absolutely stunning and the view is just magnificent! A must visit!! You will go through some narrow hair pin turns on the drive up from Flåm. There's a small parking for about 5-6 cars, so better start your journey early. We were started early this manage to escape the road closure when we were there.

  • Amazing place with a breathtaking views. Road up there is quite narrow and dangerous. It was quite scary to drive. Local taxi drivers were very dangerous. Better not to drive up on your car and use the bus. You will enjoy the views much much more then.

  • Breath taking view from over the wooden bridge. A must visit tourist attraction point. From up there you can see all around “Aurland”, and it’s beautiful mountains and lake. Be careful while driving, as the roads are very narrow and sometimes without fences.

  • Too bad it was snowing. Our views were somewhat hampered by the snow, rain and fog. However, we were treated to a few amazing views when the clouds parted.
