Grand Falls is a natural waterfall system, present northeast of Flagstaff, in the Painted Desert. It is taller than the Niagara Falls. The melting snow and the rain water during the monsoon showers gets dumped into the Little Colorado River below. The river owes its opacity to its extremely muddy flow. The waterfalls resemble flowing chocolate occasionally depending on the flow and water. The place looks spectacular when it rains or snowfalls.

Grand Falls Reviews & Ratings
Fairly rough road for 8 miles, but it's an amazing sight. Spring time is best when the snow is melting in the White Mountains.
Beautiful. Nice dirt road. A few washboard areas but saw plenty of cars driving it. Water wasn't running this weekend but we will definitely be taking another trip when it is. There is is nicely maintained outlook picnic area with porta john type restrooms.
We really enjoyed the trip. Yes, there is some washboard but with the dry road you didn't need 4 wheel drive. I would not recommend it for a low to the ground car though. Hiking to the bottom and back up is not for a novice hiker. I'd consider my DH and I about average and it took a little planning to find good routes up and down.
Just 30 miles Northeast of Flagstaff! The water only flows a few times a year but with the record snowfalls this winter, the falls are as grand as they're gonna get. The last part of the trip is an eight mile ride up a washboard dirt road but even that is a beautiful desert scene.
Most amazing place I've been this year
