Once a church, this small 15th century building was eventually deconsecrated and rededicated into a Museum for the sculptor Marino Marini, and includes his portraits and drawings. Each of these methods have a different floor dedicated to them in the museum, and the museum layout has been very cleverly presented to best reflect the artists state of mind at the time he was working. There are a total of 180 works. Most people have never even heard of Marini, but it’s only upon entering this museum that it becomes clear just how much of a great influence he was in 20th century sculpture. The experience of visiting this place is almost always moving and intimate.
