Alessandro Dari is a polymath of sorts – poet, alchemist, musician, and master goldsmith. He taught himself goldsmithing when he could not get an apprenticeship. He wasn’t a regular goldsmith though. His specialty was sculptures of every kind, especially rings. Today, his workshop museum is set up in the Renaissance style of work that inspired him. The collections are thematically arranged – castles, churches, angels, the moon, crowns, music-boxes, and wedding rings. Naturally, you’re welcome to buy the goods. Stepping into his workshop is like entering another world. It’s surreal, and may remind you of something out of Harry Potter.
Trivia: This place is one of the only six in Italy conferred the title ‘Workshop Museum’.
