Though named after Florence’s primary church, this square is an attraction in its own right. It’s surrounded on all sides by the Duomo complex – the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, and the Loggia del Bigallo. Also important are the Palazzo dei Canonici, the Palazzo Archivescovile, and the Palazzo Strozzi di Mantova. The main activity here, before or after you’ve finished with visiting all these buildings, is to people watch. The square is never, ever, empty during the day, and people of every kind visit it.

Great plaza with lots of wonderful people watching. Beautiful buildings and colors all around. Go close to sunset as the lighting makes for beautiful pictures! Don’t miss the climb up to the top of the campanile and the cupola! Lovely views of Florence from above.
The Duomo is amazingly beautiful on the outside but inside it's not as impressive. It's definitely worth visiting and if you just visit the church, it's free. The painting underneath the dome was beautiful. Florence is an incredible place to visit, I wish we had stayed longer than we did. My wife and I will definitely be back some day.
Located in the historic centre of Florence. There you will find the Florence Cathedral and Baptistery. These structures are very old dating from 1059. The rich sculptural decorations and marble decor are amazing. A must see. Pictures cannot fully capture the true beauty of the structures
Excellent view. Beautiful architecture. Good gelato. Good gluten-free pizza. Cathedral is stunning from outside, just average from inside apart from the actual dome. Baptistery is also worth coming into. The Museum, not so much.
Beautiful square surrounding the Duomo. The church itself is indescribable. Seeing all of Florence from the top of the dome is nothing short of amazing. Words cannot describe the eclectic feel and vibrancy here. Highly recommend.
