Piazza Del Duomo - Review
Though named after Florence’s primary church, this square is an attraction in its own right. It’s surrounded on all sides by the Duomo complex – the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, and the Loggia del Bigallo. Also important are the Palazzo dei Canonici, the Palazzo Archivescovile, and the Palazzo Strozzi di Mantova. The main activity here, before or after you’ve finished with visiting all these buildings, is to people watch. The square is never, ever, empty during the day, and people of every kind visit it.

Piazza Del Duomo, Florence Reviews
Located in the historic centre of Florence. There you will find the Florence Cathedral and Baptistery. These structures are very old dating from 1059. The rich sculptural decorations and marble decor are amazing. A must see. Pictures cannot fully capture the true beauty of the structures
Florence piazza del Duomo, spectacular, the architecture, size and buildings,we never bored of seeing them and taking soany photos. We bought a ticket for joint places 18€,we climbed 374 of Duomo to have awesome views of Florence, sat and soaked it up and recovered, before walk down Then did opera museum, full of replicas of Duomo, etc, very beautiful. The following day did climb up tower with 314 steps, this is harder as you meet people coming down and is narrow at places, but 3 levels to view and rest.Amazing view. Last building was round shape, church with beautiful domed ceiling, mosaic floors. Stunning piazza,be warned of tour touts,so many.
The Piazza Della Duomo is a pretty interesting Cathedral. The line to get in was wrapped around the building and looked pretty intimidating but we only stood in line for about 40-45 minutes (there is no skip the line privileges). Inside there are some pictures views so bring a good camera! If you are planning on going up the tower then book well in advance (1 week at least) because it books up very quickly. The Cathedral is open 10:00 to 17:00.
One of the best Cathedrals I have ever laid eyes on! The colors that lay on the outside of the building are beautiful. When I first l first turned the corner in the streets of Florence and saw this incredible Cathedral, I literally exclaimed, "Wow!" It is a breathtaking feat to look and awe at for hours. I recommend sitting at one of the cafes in the Piazza, enjoy a coffee and gaze up the magnificence that is The Duomo.
Don't try to do everything, just find a nice cafe, and soak up the feeling in the air! Have breakfast or lunch outside, and enjoy the sounds and the scene of the Duomo. I had a lovely lunch for about 13 euro, and sat for over 2 hours, just watching the people and sitting beside the great Duomo. Florence is romantic, and holds a lot for the imagination. Enjoy! At night the area becomes even busier! So don't be too tired to spend an hour or two in the evening enjoying the night life.
