This 15th century house and English park, originally meant to serve as a resting place for pilgrims, changed ownership many times over the centuries, eventually passing to the Italian state in the 1960s. The gardens, developed by Poggi and botanist Attilio Pucci, were turned into a romantic retreat. It’s for the gardens that the estate is a tourist attraction now. It’s terraces cover two levels have the following features:

An Italian roof garden of roses

• A double staircase connecting the boulevards of the two levels.
• A pond that’s home to fish, birds and turtles.
• A hedge maze.
• A long driveway leading up to the house.

Today the park is open for public use, and is known for it’s enchanting glimpses of Florence through the woodlands.
