Wonderful hiking experience. However make sure that you are prepared to hike. The 2 mile hike to the waterfall felt much longer as the terrain is left mostly natural. It was awesome to see actual ice in the caves wish we spent more time looking but we were focused on getting through. HIGHLY recommend. Awesome views. Well worth the 10$ parking fee.
Good hike through many micro-climates and vistas that want to show the earth's curvature on a clear day. Maybe want some big spray too. Hike is made great if you can get on a tour with Ranger Laura. Her and her team's research of the flora, fauna and geology give the hiker a great sense of the significance and history of the preserve's wonders!
This place has it all! The walk wasn't too bad. I took the loop road from the left. It was a nice hike up to the mountain lake. It all lead to the great view Sam's Point offers. It was amazing. The view went on forever. There aren't any railings so be careful and don't let kids or pets wander too far. I'll definitely be back!
Not the nicest park in the country but probably the nicest one in the entire state. I'd recommend going in the fall when the trees actually have leaves. The views are pretty good of the town below but that's about it. The lake is decent sized but the view of it is ruined by cell towers. If your in the area and looking for something to do I'd give this place a go!
Great spot to hike. Get here early as the parking lot fills up early on the weekends. (There is no parking on the side of the road). Definitely check out the ice caves while you are here. There are many easy trails and some medium difficulty trails. Nothing too hard though. A lot of carriage trails.
