Absolutely stunning beach worth visiting in different seasons and times of day to get the full experience. I do recommend sunset though if you can only go once. Don’t forget to bring some firewood to enjoy a beach fire in this beautiful location. We visited in late spring when the crowds were smaller and thus had a relaxing peaceful time having pretty much the beach to ourselves.
This beautiful beach is accessible via an easy, well maintained trail. Access to the beach itself requires crossing driftwood logs, so those with mobility problems may have difficulty. Camping on the beach is allowed with a permit. When camping, bear cans are required for your food. This is not due to bears but to thwart the raccoons who have figured out how to open every other type of food storage.
I half-expected to find a swarming gaggle of Twilight fan-boys&girls feuding over tent space, food storage containers and quiet hours, against the over-enlightened, self appointed leaders of La Push's Lewis and Clark's Mycological Maternity Meet-up... I'd like to think both groups gazed upon the exquisite selection of organically-grown phallic geology and redirected their aggressions towards an impromptu bouldering session, at the low-low tide..
Great place to camp on the beach. There were some small tide pools that we checked out last time. Found some starfish. Overall its a nice, chill spot.
Great spot for camping, excellent scenery and a wonderful black sand.
