Centering around 6 mile long Ichetucknee River that flows through the shaded hardwood hammocks and wetlands into the Santa Fe, the Ichetucknee Springs State Park is part of the Florida State Park. Through May to September, one of the most popular activities of this park is floating down the river in an innertube. Snorkelling, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and diving are other popular activities, owing to its spring-fed limpid water. The Blue Hole is available for scuba diving. For picnicking, you will find picnic shelter equipped with tables and grills and a concession stand offering refreshments. The 17th century Spanish Mission Site in the park is also an archaeological wonder. Enjoy fishing crayfish, bluegill, mullet, catfish and largemouth bass. Water snakes, American Alligators, river otters, manatees, raccoons, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys are also common in the area.
