The Senckenberg Museum Of Natural History, Frankfurt Reviews
I love this museum! It's in a beautiful building (from the inside and the outside). The exhibition is very interesting for children and adults and very big - so plan at least one hour for the visit. The admission is free for students of Frankfurt's universities but isn't that high anyway. You can easily get there by public transportation and there is a parking garage in walking distance. Really cool museum for a rainy day.
Great collection, presented in a classic, logical way. There are few signs/explanations in English, but this is not much of a problem because the collection is presented very clear. The insect and mollusc collection is presented with lots of drawings to clarify the functional anatomy of the different exhibits. The bird collection is a classic long row of cabinets, which I love. The dinosaurs are amazing, and the subcollection of dinosaur birds and marine animals is superb. It's a very nice visit for both adults and children.
Good place especially to bring kids and teens. Adults with even slight interest in natural history will find it interesting. The bird section is the best. Aquatic section is a little disappointing
Quite interesting and informative... They've got an impressive collection... A visual treat for all !
I don't speak German well but about half of the exhibits had English. Some real interesting specimens I wasn't expecting, including the whales. We were able to get through the whole museum in under 2 hours.
