A ‘gem of New Zealand’s West Coast Glacier’ – that’s how Franz Josef Glacier is always defined. Adjectives like magnificent, glorious, splendid falls short when it comes in defining this glacier. And a sight of this beautiful glacier will convince you that it is indeed the most impressive place you will ever find all around the world.

Franz Josef Glacier, Franz Josef Glacier Reviews
Amazing tour and real friendly and engaging tour guides but the cloths provided were extremely stinky. So get to see all these incredible ice formations but always with that sweaty smell... so if you can, just bring your own jacket. The ones provided aren’t even anything special. “Weather proof” sounded like something special designed for the glacier but really they’re just using standard (quite over used) jackets from Kathmandu/MacPak.
The glacier is fast moving, so don’t expect ice caves. It’s more walking in the crevices. The staff are friendly and look after you well. Their can be a bit of waiting around at times but you’re in a beautiful place. Well worth going to the hot pools after. Great day out.
Great day out. The day itself was very cloudy so they decided to charge us for the short trip and if things changed they would do the longer trip and charge us afterwards. It was very professional. Lovely friendly staff and the views are incredible!! Highly recommend. A must see when you are on the south island. Best experience of New Zealand.
It is wonderful here. unfortunately we could not make the helicopter flight because of bad weather (so I was not sad), so we explored the area by car and on foot. it was worth it.
Thanks a lot for my tour guide "Jara" today, he is very friendly and nice to introduce knowledge to us. Also take care well to my parents during the valley walk. So appreciated!
