Island Waterpark, Fresno Reviews - Write a Review
Nice park, with fun slides for every age. The young kids area is VERY good. There plenty of shade areas with views of the kids area or the large slides. My students loved the "Lazy River". They are good about bringing in your own food in.
Absolutely loved this place! Had the ultimate season pass that made driving the 130miles, from Bakersfield to Fresno, worth it! Our cabana guy, Austin, was the best! Very attentive, and helpful! Never a bad time, my kids loved going just about every weekend this season. Thank you, Island Water Park, for the good times and memories! Until next year
I got my tickets for a really good price so I was happy with that, and I really like how close the park is. However most of the rides get shut down for one reason or another. The park need a LOT of work. The life jackets are broken and missing before the end of the season and theres no discount for pass holders in the rafts. All in all I think the other place is worth the extra money. But it did keep us cool this summer. So completely a personal choice.
So I've been to enough water parks in my life to know the difference between a good water park and this place... before I rant, understand that the sate of the rides themselves and the safety provided by the staff was not up to red cross lifeguard standards So, first things first, we spent $80 for 4 adults... when in reality they didn't even check all of our tickets. We could have printed anything on those pages and they wouldn't have noticed... strange but whatever We got in and we're instantly excited. 5 towers, 3 of those towers hold 3 slides, 2 only hold 1 but they were multi-person rides so the lines moved fast. Looking at the staff... they seemed as though they would rather be anywhere but at the water park. As we approached the first slide we noticed that there was little organization to how the park was run itself; no single staff member could give us accurate information, there were teenagers running through the lines (damn line cutters), and there were never enough life vests for our God-daughter to get one (she can't swim well... these places provide them to prevent law suit, this one doesn't have enough). We got on the first slide and realized instantly that they needed work. After EVERY SINGLE SLIDE our backs would get welts from the slide not being smooth and the rides were designed so that you hit the water at the end hard enough to make our got daughter cry at one point... Side note, there is rust on A LOT OF the structures, and all the slides have wear marks on the slides and structures themselves The little one did have a good time and had a smile on her face as we left... so this place got 1 more star than I was willing to give it. But as a former lifeguard, there are far too many safety concerns with the quality of the slides and the quality of the staff for me to consider this a safe place to have summer fun. I know the other place in town is more expensive, but without going there I still would choose it over this place
My family and I rented a cabana and it was great, it was right next to the kiddie pool as most of them are. Are cabana guy Austin was great always made sure our cups where filled. Kids had a great time , slides where so much fun. However when we got there to pay for our tickets it took us about 20 to 30 minutes for us to get them because of an error issue.(There was no one in line) but over all lady was always updating us.
