The Battle Island State Park is spread across an area of 235 acres and got its name from a battle which took place on a nearby island on the Oswego River in the mid-1700s. The highlight of the park is the 18-hole golf course that lies adjacent to the Oswego River and offers the golfers stunning views from a number of its fairways and greens. The golf course is a challenging one both for budding professional and amateur player. During the winter months, the park is used for cross-country skiing. Amenities in the park include the clubhouse, banquet area, practice putting greens, lockers, restaurants and much more.
