Mount Nokogiri is a ‘saw-mountain’ on the Boso Peninsula in Japan. Distinguished by its Saw-toothed slopes, it bears witness to its earlier history of Edo Period Quarry. You need to take the Nokogiriyama Ropeway that will take you to the top viewpoint. The Jigoku Nozoki observation viewpoint will offer you the ethereal view of the Tokyo Bay and Mt Fuji. Along the slopes, you will see the Nihon-ji temple, a Zen temple showcasing some beautiful Buddhist statues and two Daibutsu Sculptures – a huge 102ft tall seated carving of Yakushi Nyorai and the tall relief image of Hundred-Shaku Kannon. The handcrafted Arhat sculptures are also wonderful.
