Mt Nokogiri, Futtsu Reviews
An excellent Temple Mountain area. Great views and off the typical beaten path. Didn’t seem like many foreign tourists new about it. Best way to get there is to take the ferry from Kurihama and walk to the mountain. There is a gondola to take you to the top with an excellent view.
Not an easy hike. Lots of stairs. Easy access with direct trains from Shinjuku Station or take a ferry.
it's very good place to visit.. if you got some stamina
if you are looking for a different attraction in Japan where as you want to just share your energy with nature, this is the right place. You can try to hike Mount Nokogiri to wave out your life's stress and feel recharge as you hike up the mountain. Although there is a ropeway going up the mountain, it is still a adventure going up. You have to pay to enter to the mountain tourist spot premises. As you pay the entrance fee, they will give you a map guide of the whole mountain where you can explore and visit. I must admit, it was really a tiring but fulfilling because strolling around the mountain is another experience that not all of the tourists in Japan can have. Inside the premises there are several spots where you can take shot a picture to have a souvenir. The Great Buddha curved on the mountain side is one of the most popular attraction in the site. There are still several attractions to go while doing the hike. One of the most popular attraction is the cliff where in you can take a daring picture because it is really a real thrill. I won't spill all the details because it is up to you to discover the beauty of the place.
The best part of my visit to Japan. A bit difficult to get there by train from Tokyo, but do-able, just read the directions carefully. We left pretty late in the day, so I suggest to get there early. My friends and I hiked up on foot, a road travelled by few especially in the humid heat of August. But come prepared with food and water, take your time and you're fine. I haven't done much hiking in my life, it was a good challenge. The wonders and rewards that await at the top are so amazing and inspiring.
