A popular picnicking destination, the Sandwell Provincial Park is nestled at the Lock Bay and offers incredible views of the Strait of Georgia. You can come here for hiking, taking a dip in the azure waters, picnicking, or simply taking a peaceful walk along the water. Sandstone carved to make some beautiful prehistoric petroglyphs are a major attraction here while the sandy shores make for a perfect evening. Established in 1988 with an aim to preserve archeological sites, this provincial park is a must-visit in the Gabriola Island.
