Visited on a Saturday night at 10.30. All the tables were either full or dirty. We sat at the side counter, this was also dirty. After 25 mins there was no sign of the food. They forgot our order, the curry sauce was not available. They brought the food down to us, forgot cutlery, forgot my drink. The staff looked like they couldn't wait to get out the door. Quite disappointing for a local taking a friend out for food. The fish was not great either. Chips were amazing so 3 stars not 2.
Totally overrated. Prices are cheap but the fish had no taste. Seems all tourist guides recommend it so there is a lot of business. I prefer to spend more but have good food.
Looking for great, really great fish and chips? Definitely the place to go!! The best fish and chips in Ireland. And I am a local not a tourist!
First time ever 2 visit here, and boy did it live up to its name, food was fab , my sister and I had the traditional fish m chips, mushy peas, and tartare sauce, and our friends had the steak, they said it was divine, definitely will visit here again, when we are in Galway.
Our tour bus told us to go here, which is why we tried it. It was really busy and we went to the front cashier to give our order. There was nowhere to sit so we had to sit at a dirty table and wait, which was fine because we knew we would get a new one shortly. While waiting, a sour looking bus girl with brown hair and a pony tail aggressively kicked the bar stools next to us to push them in and started slamming the dishes while picking them up. We got our food and it looked just like any greasy fish and chips you would get anywhere minus the free tartar sauce or any additional sauce. The fries were tasty though! While eating I noticed two older ladies who were chatting being interrupted by the same bus girl with the same bad attitude. They were sitting at one of the bar stools and she basically just shoved her way in front of them and just grabbed their plates without even asking if they were done. They ladies immediately left and you could tell they were put off by the interruption. I was really unimpressed with the food and the snotty persons attitude in such a cool place such as Galway. It kinda ruined the experience for me.
