Named after the majestic mountain that the park includes, the word Odaesan actually means “five plains mountain”. The park was established in the year 1975, and over the years has become abundant in resources. Spread over an area of more than 300 square kilometers, the park boasts of housing 3,788 species including flora and fauna. 1976 insect, 1040 plant, 157 spider, 103 bird, 35 fish, 28 mammal, 13 amphibian and 12 reptile species have made this reserve their home. Aimed at offering the best to tourists, it also has camping facilities and walkways for exploration.
