The Phensong Monastery was established in 1721 during the period of Jigme Pawo and is currently home to around 300 monks- making it one of the six biggest monasteries to have the largest number of monks in Sikkim.

The annual mask dance arranged here by the monks is the highlight of the place while on any other day, you can walk in to experience the tranquility and see the beautiful architecture and art that embraces the monastery.
