The Hillbilly Golf called it “putt-putt gatlinburg" and this was their form of relaxation. Come to the Smokies and head for the hills for a soothing time at Hillbilly Golf Gatlinburg Tennessee. This is truly the world’s most unusual mini golf course. Miniature golf, also known as crazy golf, is an offshoot of its parent game. It is played on courses consisting of a series of holes similar to its parent. It is characterized by their short length usually within 10 yards from tee to cup. The use of artificial putting surfaces such as carpets, AstroTurf, and non-traditional putting lines are used. Use of bank shots, and artificial obstacles such as tunnels, tubes, ramps and moving obstacles are implemented. In the Hillbilly Golf course two challenging 18-hole courses await you. Both are peppered with mountaineer hazards, from outhouses to stills, rocky walls and lush plants. Hear a golf ball bounce off the side of a run-down tractor before rolling into a moonshine operation. Hillbilly were people who dwelled in the mountainous area of the U.S. A Hillbilly is free, can dress like he wants and speak in any manner. He drinks whiskey when he pleases and fires his revolver when he fancies. So how did he come to play golf? Guess he wanted to change his image and modernise himself! But that part which is his tradition is the Banjo. Hear Duelling Banjos playing in the background as you make your way from hole to hole.
Ride the Incline 300 feet straight up to the mountaintop above the city. Play down the incline. Take a ride in the tram to get to the first hole. Enjoy the stunning views of the city below. You will have a hard time choosing which course to take. You want to miss any of the exceptional equipment on either side. Hole seven is named after John Deere who was an American inventor and manufacturer of agricultural equipment.
During the entire course, you will lose a lot of golf balls until you come to hole 18. It usually take an hour to get though the whole course. It is a unique experience to play hillbilly mini golf in the mountains!

This is one of the best mini golf places I've been to. Everyone there is amazing and so kind. Definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.
Really unique mini golf course that is up in the hills. It was a lot of fun and I only knocked off a star due to some of the hole being in a little right condition. I mean I know it's hillbilly golf but still...
Most unique mini golf we've ever played! Its kinda like our thing when ever we go on vacation we play mini golf. This place was awesome. Its completely on the side of a mountain and you have to take a cart to the top in order to get to the first hole. The workers were really nice and the whole experience was great! We would definitely go again to try the other course. (There is 2 and you get to pick which one to play)
We loved hillbilly golf!! It's a unique mini golf course that's affordable and a lot of fun. It's $12.50 to play one 18 hole course per adult and $5 to play the other side, if you play the other side before 9pm same day. At night the place is lit up beautifully with Christmas lights, and there are a lot of photo opportunities. It is not ADA or stroller accessible because the design relies on a lot of stairs. Parking is limited so I recommend walking or taking the trolley.
Its such a fun experience! To go up the side of the mountain and play your way down, it's definitely not normal putt putt golf! The staff was super friendly and it was a decent price. Definitely worth a stop!
