You’re perched under the large old shaded trees besides a clear bubbling trout stream. You take out your woven basket and delve into the beautiful feast now spread out on picnic tables. After a game of tennis or baseball you have worked up an appetite so dig right in to the bountiful food. Mynatt Park is a silent no cost entertaining park for the whole family.

This park has a trout stream where kids are allowed to fish, kids and disabled people. It also has an outdoor basketball court and horseshoe pits. Horseshoes is an outdoor game played between two people, or two teams of two people. Four horseshoes and two throwing targets (stakes) set in a sandbox area are used. The game is played by the players alternating turns tossing horseshoes at stakes in the ground.

There are tables and grills where you can cook fish or meat and entertain friends with baked bread and freshly squeezed lemonade. Take your time to relax, linger over a book or watch the timeless ever changing view of the Smokies. Visitors love this park. It is concealed at the end of the Airport road and right on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. The park is ideal for weddings as well. It is held under the wooden arched bridge that overlooks the stream. There are Rhododendrons and beautiful shrubs near the bridge overlooking the water. There are several huge rocks to sit on and there are concrete picnic tables. The park has plenty of trash containers nearby for picnics.

Take a short break from the noise and commerce of Gatlinburg downtown. Come for a lovely, peaceful, easy nature walk. You can see several varieties of birds, including an unusual woodpecker, and a frolicking chipmunk on the shore of the creek. Chipmunk is a burrowing ground squirrel with cheek pouches and light and dark stripes running down the body. Just sit and watch the stream run by. They have a large covered pavilion with bathrooms. It was nice and quiet, yet close to the main street in Gatlinburg. During summer when it gets hot, cool off under the shades and wait to take pictures. If you are lucky, you may spot a bear.

  • Beautiful park located near a creek. The water was clean and some fish nibbled on my feet it was a lot of fun They have working bathrooms in the pavilion and stone picnic tables under the trees and a few grilling stations. Park security drove through a few times checking the areas for problems

  • Absolutely stunning in all areas! Worth going here to picnic and listen to the river run down the stream. The sounds were so calming and peace full. We seen a snake and some bears a baby and momma. The drive up is gorgeous as well and it’s like being in a magical wonderland. Must see and experience! You can get down in the water and rocks here and best of all it’s all FREE!

  • Pleasant little gem in Gatlinburg. Tables next to water. Clean restrooms and park has plenty of space to relax

  • Beautiful park. I will say a little more shade closer to the playground would be nice, but overall it's a wonderful experience with easy water access.

  • Great park to have a picnic at. The kids enjoy playing in the stream jumping from rock to rock looking for crawdads, salamanders, and other critters. Park has a nice public restroom and has plenty of shaded picnic tables.
