Plainpalais Flea Market - Review

Do you love bargaining? Well, if you do then Plainpalais Flea Market is one of the best places to test your bargaining skill. It’s an ancient, and popular Geneva institution, dating back to 70s. It is organized twice-weekly, and consists of a huge number of stands, therefore, it is considered as one of the biggest flea markets in Switzerland. If you like to enjoy, and experience a little offbeat and multicultural atmosphere then you should certainly walk into this flea market. From a wide range of car boot-style sort of collectables like the toy selling, second-hand outfits selling stands to interesting ethnic items like candles, oils, incense, and jewelry, you’ll find something for everyone! Vintage clothes, huge vintage furniture items, and even the high-class designer products can be bought here.

Plainpalais Flea Market, Geneva Reviews

  • Probably, the nicest market I've ever seen! Large choice of fruits and vegetables, very nice food stands and good food quality. You can also find clothes, juice stands and so on and so forth. Good Sunday activity

  • Relaxing stroll in the park. The vendor prices have gone up in the last five years. Was more of a local morning meet-up for the vendors than a place to sell goods. Still worth the visit even if I did leave empty handed.

  • The Plainpalais market has a wide range of antiques that come from all around the world. It's stretches across the entire Plainpalais skate park. This can be a good thing when looking for old, antique items but during my bicycle rides around town, I end up needing to go into the tram lane. The close proximity to town gives a lot leeway allowing people to drop in quickly and look at all the stalls. During some mornings, there are food trucks selling pastries for people going into work. This is around 4 out of 7 days a week.

  • Mostly good quality farm produce. Wide selection. Prices vary. Worth checking several stalls before deciding what to buy.

  • The markets are interesting. But nothing really special. I thought the prices were quite high for what was ordinary. A nice stroll around the Plainpalce.
