The Voltaire Museum is located in an old residence of the famous philosopher. Voltaire stayed in the place between 1755 and 1760. The exact time period is still not known. This house is known as the Voltaire Institute has an inexhaustible library. 25,000 volumes have been accumulated and it was set up to pay a tribute to Voltaire.
Opened in 1954, the museum is an ode to Voltaire. You will come across several artefacts from his life and the history of his life and times has been beautifully preserved here. As an important French-speaking thinker who had lived in the city, Voltaire is a rather important to Geneva and even on the world scale.
