Events and Festivals in Genoa

  • Pinocchio Biennale 2012: Genoa’s tribute to the most famous puppet of all time (sorry, Miss Piggy!) is in full force now through January 13. This is your unique chance to see notable depictions of Pinocchio from the past 130 years. Works by the likes of Flavio Costantini, Jim Dine, Lorenzo Mattotti and Mimmi Paladino are on display at the Luzzati Museum and the Cotton Warehouse, in the historic port area of Genoa.
  • The Genoa international Boat show: On the first weekend of June every four years, Genoa holds the historic Regatta, where boatmen from the ancient maritime republics compete. In July you can enjoy a jazz festival. At the end of the July the statue “Christ of the Depths” is celebrated with a Mass. There is a line of underwater torches and the illumination of the reef shows the way to the statue that is underwater.
