Chew Jetty Cafe, George Town Reviews
Very peaceful and such a sight to see. Loved how the locals preserved the simple and traditional style of the dock and pier. Beautiful place to visit at sunset/sunrise
We stayed at My Chew Jetty Homestay and it was a wonderful experience. Located on the Jetty, Mr. Xiu Ping does a great job of hosting guests in this historic and humble property. There are always snacks and fruits available and he is so kind — especially so if you can speak Chinese. While it may not be the place for luxury or pampering or multilingual travel itinerary planning it is truly a memorable experience to be in the center of the Jetty and you get a great cultural experience. I will remember fondly sitting on the dockside porch watching the sea with an orange watching the world go by.
Super hot weather, sweat a lot, so remember to bring an umbrella and drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Thought it’s just a jetty with some views and nothing much, but along the way from the main road towards the jetty, shops are lined up, although not much but just enough to keep you interested. Shops selling souvenirs, dried food, coffee powder, bags and caps, food stall. Try the durian ice cream, it’s nice. Especially in such a weather, it’s a life “saver”.
One of the famous jetty among the Clan Jetty in Penang island. Nothing much at here, just a short walk and there are some houses along the jetty and it is a great place for photography. There is a big bowl noodle restaurant at the end of the jetty for an once in a lifetime experience and also some other souvenir shops around as well.
It was really fun to walk along the jetty and buy some dragon's beard candy from one of the vendors, then eat it while looking at the water. It's touristy here, but still nice.
