Jennie Wade was the only civilian who was killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. Hence, in order to pay tribute to her, the house which once was her residence, has now been turned into a museum. Jennie was 20 when she a bullet pierced her body and she died after that. In her remembrance, the artefacts dating back to 1863 are kept here and guided tours are organised frequently here. There is a shop as well which sells some exclusive replicas of the artefacts displayed here.

  • The tours here at the Jennie Wade house was nice when I went years ago. Always wanted to do it a second time. Looks small from the outside but while in small groups it was fun and somewhat suspenseful. The guides are very well knowledgeable right down to what bullet hole in the door had been the kill-shot that took the young lady’s life. And the story’s of both the union and confederate soldiers on different ends of the house. Just amazing to still imagine a picture of this at that time in and near the house.

  • This was the 1st stop on the bus Tour it is right downtown right the middle of everything very nice tour of Jenny Wade house very good story telling family thing. Very interesting all history very cool is right by national cemetery you can walk to site of Gettysburg address. Nice. Shops across street

  • Enjoyed the one hour guided tour, our guide was knowledgeable and very personable! The home is so lovingly kept and full of Civil War historical importance. A great way to end our trip to Gettysburg!

  • Loved the tour. Seeing all the bullet holes in the walls and doors brings the battle home. Seeing the floorboard with her blood is interesting as there is no remnant of the actual combatants.

  • Very cool experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very good. She led us through the house, down to the basement and out towards the cemetery, with bits of information at every turn! The story of what occurred here is absolutely incredible, if you go to Gettysburg, you absolutely should take time to visit Jennie Wade!
