Jennie Wade was the only civilian who was killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. Hence, in order to pay tribute to her, the house which once was her residence, has now been turned into a museum. Jennie was 20 when she a bullet pierced her body and she died after that. In her remembrance, the artefacts dating back to 1863 are kept here and guided tours are organised frequently here. There is a shop as well which sells some exclusive replicas of the artefacts displayed here.

  • The guide was kind enough to give me an individual tour when I arrived during a slow time, and she did an amazing job. Her knowledge of the house, history, and Wade family was outstanding , and she expertly answered all of my many questions. It is a very interesting story and I enjoyed the experience immensely.

  • I was taking my family around Gettysburg back in June, and we decided to visit the gift shop and take the tour of the house. Our tour guide was Starr. She is an amazing and witty lady. She was a very informative guide as we walked through the Jennie Wade house, and she made sure that everybody got the pictures that they wanted and was quick to answer any questions that were asked. My mother became ill walking through the house and had to leave the tour, and Starr even checked on her after the tour was done. To walk through this house is an amazing experience, especially with Starr as your guide!

  • If you're a history nerd it is a quick (45 minutes) and very informative tour. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Provides a wonderful background to any Gettysburg sightseeing you do. The bullet holes that remain are super cool/chilling reminder of the war.

  • Really an amazing story, and so remarkable that they have all the fine details about what transpired that day. The guides really put you there in the house and make it possible to see what it was like to be in Gettysburg as a civilian while the battle was going on

  • Learned so .uch, the upkeep of the home is excellent and the tour guides are very educated and if they do not know something they do not make up an answer
