Jennie Wade was the only civilian who was killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. Hence, in order to pay tribute to her, the house which once was her residence, has now been turned into a museum. Jennie was 20 when she a bullet pierced her body and she died after that. In her remembrance, the artefacts dating back to 1863 are kept here and guided tours are organised frequently here. There is a shop as well which sells some exclusive replicas of the artefacts displayed here.

  • Very knowledgeable guide (Linda) took a small group of 10-11 adults through the entire house in about an hour. Nice presentation 👍👍. The usual gift shop is right next door and that is where the tour begins. If you're taller than about 6 feet the second floor will be a "tad" tight.

  • Great place for kids about civil war. Reply to Jennie Wade House: First thing, it was difficult to find a parking spot as the parking lot in front of the building was marked as "Hotel parking only". Second, about the Jenny Wade House, a suggestion is that there could be more questions-and-answers interaction to get the audience more involved. Another suggestion could be to have monitors on the first floor for handicaps, people with disabilities that don't have the ability to walk up the stairs and see the second floor. Other than that, this was an amazing experience for first timers that taught a lot about the civilian's experience during the war.

  • Absolutely wonderful Scott our guide was great a definite to do on your visit to Gettysburg. Thank you so much enjoyed the tour. We are doing Jennie Wade and orphanage tour tonight can't wait.

  • Okay At First I Did The Orphanage And That Wasn't Scary No Offense But Today We Went To The Jennie Wade House And It Was Scary. The Tour Guide Actually Locked A Poor Kid In There! It Was Only For 5 Seconds Though And He Volunteered So It Wasn't Too Bad But It Was Funny And After That He Quit His Volunteered Job And I Was The New One. I Got To Go Up The Stairs Before Anyone Else And Saw The Shell That Destroyed That Wall And He Told A Bunch Of Scary Stories And Everything. If I Ever Come Back I'm Getting Another One Of These. If You Are Planning A Vacation But Don't Know Where Choose Gettysburg. Tip: Bring Extra Money For More Attractions Like An Escape Room We Beat And Souvenir's!

  • I gotta say it's very spooky. Once I got there I was already spooked out. Jennie wade introduced me into her house and I have to say, she is the most spooky scary person I've ever seen. After seeing her I got the spooky shakes and my hands felt like an earthquake. The ghosts are pretty rad though. We were talking and had a pretty cool conversation, but everyone else in the room was looking at me weird so that kinda freaked me out. After all I think this is a 4 star because it wasn't actually that spooky and there were no ghosts.
