Visa Procedure

Foreign nationals of ECOWAS countries, Botswana, Egypt, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Singapore, Swaziland, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and Zimbabwe can enter Ghana visa free. When to go

The best time to visit Ghana is in the months of July and August as there is a brief spell of dry season during this time and the flight tickets are fairly reasonable. Other months to travel are December to April as there are no rains during this time and the heat is not unbearable.

There is plenty to do and plenty of things to see in Ghana. If you want to absorb the best of Ghana, then the best option is to include in your itinerary are-Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, Busua, National Museum of Ghana, Osu Castle and Manhyia Palace. You can also get in by car via the borders at Aflao and Togo. You can also get in by bus through the most major cities in Africa. You can also take a boat from Tamale. You can get around Africa by plane, by car, by bus and also by train. Also remember to travel by Tro-Tro. 

Hotels and Food

There are many budget options in forms of rustic buildings and various mid range accommodations as well. Being an important centre of trade, there are also plenty of luxury hotels to stay in. For a decent accommodation, it will cost you somewhere in between GH₵ 12 to GH₵ 20. You will also get great food at the road side eateries and the pubs. Some foods that you should definitely try here are Jollof rice, Fante Kenkey (boiled maize dough), Fufu which is basically pounded cassava and plantain or pounded Coco-Yam or Taro. Banku or Akple is another dish you should definitely try.
