St. Nicholas Church - Review
This church practically hits you with its domineering presence. It’s bold, big, solemn and impossible to miss. It was built over an earlier Romanesque church that stood in the same spot. Until the belfry of Gent was built, the church tower, unusual for having been built over the nave rather than the front, used the be the city’s watchtower. Together with the belfry and St. Bavo’s Cathedral, the tower was one of the reasons that Gent’s medieval skyline was famous. Light shines from outside the tower straight into the transept. The church has been built in Tournai bluestone in Scheldt Gothic Style.

St. Nicholas Church, Ghent Reviews
This church is located in the heart of the city Gent, it is a treat to the eyes.. You just can't miss this beautiful architecture.. The view is spectacular from the outside and the inside.. If you get a chance to visit Gent do visit this church.. The inner peace you get after spending just five minutes inside the church is totally worth..the music played inside is just so soothing.. I thoroughly enjoyed my every second of being here!!
One of the biggest and most majestic churches ever seen. It's really impressive and it's a must-to-see.
It’s such a beautiful church! I love old buildings and it’s amazing to take photos of it from every angle. I never went inside but rather appreciated it’s beauty from the outside.
13th Century Church , one of the oldest and most prominent landmarks in Ghent. I love this place.
This is a very beautiful church right in the center of the city. It is really nice to see from the outside. We did not have time to go inside but maybe next time we will try to. If you are near that area of town I would walk over to it just to take in the architecture of the church. It’s really nice to see it.
