Gilston Tourism

Gilston is a humble locality in Queensland, Australia. The name of the place was given by a local storekeeper after a town in England called Gilston. Settlements began in Gilston in the 1860s. During this time, timber and dairying were their main occupations.

Gilston runs along the Nerang River and is surrounded by various forests and golf courses. The region has Advancetown as one of its neighbors and shares one of its biggest attractions- Grand Golf Course with the town.

With telephone booth being set up in the town in early 1920s, the town became a perfect amalgamation of developed yet old school lifestyle. The Impact of Ministries Church, Gold Coast is also one of the highlights of this town. Although, the town by itself does not have much to offer as a complete experience, it is definitely worth being a part of a long set itinerary while planning your trip to the Gold Coast.
