In the beginning of July, when the warm weather has settled upon Giresun, the snows begin to melt on the Sis Dagi (Mountain). In just a few days more, the entire mountain is covered with beautiful flowers. Even in the peak of summer, the Sis Dagi is covered with fog. It is during this season that the Sis Dagi Festival takes place here. Hundreds of people from Trabzon, Ordu and Giresun flock to the mountain for the festival. This also doubles up as a summer retreat and you will often see families picnicking in the valley. Outdoor enthusiasts can carry out treks on this mountain. It is a great place to spend a warm sunny day away from the heat and humidity of Giresun.

• The mountain is very crowded during the festival. Try going before or after the celebrations.
• The mountain is covered with snow from winter to spring. A visit around this time is not recommended.
