  • For just 200 lek for a ticket you get quite a lot - the castle has a nice atmosphere, just a few tourists, it has large area accessible for people, beautiful views of the city, 2-language signs - Albanian and English, a lot of them. And beautiful Clock Tower. The castle is just a few minutes walk (10 or 15 minutes) from the parking below (we parked further away as it was full).

  • I haven't seen so many cannons in one place before I visit this castle. It is in a great shape and only costs 200 lek (around 1.5Euro). The view is great it really worth it to visit. We haven't visit the museum though, might worth a try

  • A well preserved castle and fort. A bit of a hike to get up to so I suggest a taxi up and then a walk back down instead. Not a bad place to visit but could have been maintained a bit better. The historic cobbled street town is interesting enough to wander around but like any tourist place be prepared to be hassled.

  • This is a must visit in Albania. I was highly surprised with the city of Gjirokastër. The city is very beautiful, with lots of interesting old buildings to see, a lot of history, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The fortress was really interesting, it's a nice visit, and you also get to know a lot of the history of the country and the city. There are other attractions such as the Cold War tunnel that seemed very interesting too

  • Very nice castle/preserved ruin. Worth visiting and fun to wander around. There are awesome cannons, artillery and a tank inside. Adding to that, don't forget to visit the weapons museum inside. It's definitely worth the 200 LEK. After visiting, consider seeing the cold war tunnel (bunker).
