Loch Lomond, Glasgow Reviews
Absolutely stunning views and every part of the day gives you the feeling that you are in a special place. Sun sets to die for. Really good idea to provide permits for staying for a night at the banks of the lake. Popular but still you can find places with not too many other guests. Really understand that Loch Lomond was an inspiration for artists for such a long time. Must to visit when you are in Scotland
Loch Lomond is the nearest to Glasgow and a drive to this place is recommended. The Loch or Lake is beautiful and can be accessed by many sides. From the pier you can take a boat ride and enjoy the sights or walk down from the Castle. Essentially this should be the unhurried part of your visit and kids should come in groups with outdoor sport in mind. Mind you I only mean running. Such vast beautiful countryside need be covered by a jog or stroll over an hour or two. Go for it
It has been a really nice place to visit. We hired a self catering apartment on the south east corner of the lock. Very easy to get boat rides nearby. Lock cruises were available too. Our apartments had a very nice lock facing hot tub.
Beautiful, absolutely stunning! An ideal stop off location for lunch. I'd recommend funding a lay by and waiting for a gap in the traffic rather than entering at the mega popular touristy places to the South of the loch. Seeing photos doesn't do the Loch justice. It is such a great welcome to Scotland that let's you know that you've left the South behind you.
If there is something to see in the UK, then this famous Scottish lake is definitely on top of any lists. The number if rainbows we have seen during a March trip was incredible, the weather being 80% sunny and only 5% rainy. The roads through the Highlands are beautiful with impressive sightseeings.
