Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Glasgow Reviews
The way that the park is managed is great. Real efforts are made to integrate access routes into some of the most beautiful countryside in the Trossachs. There is really something for everyone, whether that's a stroll of a mile or two or doing the whole Rob Roy way there will be something for you. The local services in terms of shopping, eating, bike hire and accommodation are all increasingly geared up towards the needs of visitors and you can expect good service and quality in the places you visit.
We had a really good walk through the forest, starting at the car park in Aberfoyle and following the Fairie Trail. It was really peaceful and mostly flat and easy going terrain. Just be aware if you go up Doone Hill that it is quite steep on the way up and even steeper on one of the paths we took on the way down!
Lovely views and if you walk back it is full of information signs but it is 14 mile walk
Great place for walks and wildlife. Can also cycle round a lot of it. Lovely view from Rhind hill (up from the Totem pole)
An excellent place to explore, easy to follow waymarked trails, but plenty of other trails to find off the track. In the snow this place is really quite amazing. Car Park payment machine wasn't working (took money, no ticket) apparently doesn't work very well in the cold...
