About The Garage, Glasgow
The Garage is a music venue and nightclub located at 490 Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow which opened in 1994. It is Scotland's largest nightclub. The Main Hall was formerly a ballroom known as The Mayfair, although it has since been remodelled by the addition of an extension to the mezzanine level. Apart from the Main Hall, other areas of the venue include the R'n'B-themed G2 club in the basement, the Indie rock-themed Attic, Snapshots Bar and The Engine Room Cocktail Bar. As well as hosting night events, The Garage also offers day-time events such as their weekly Zumba and salsa classes, which are available to the public. The main entrance has the cab of a truck projecting out over the doors to the venue. As a gig venue, it is primarily known as a stepping-stone for bands which are attempting to make their way to the top, which is very similar to the O2 ABC Glasgow. The Garage also has rooms available to be hired for public events, Band Room, Lounge, Balcony, Cocktail Bar, Attic and G2. They can cater for over 300 people or provide smaller, exclusive rooms for private parties.Wikipedia

Very disappointed. I don't usually write reviews but I felt that this had to be stated for any future visitors - my friends and I have been going to the Garage for a number of years but recently the staff have been very rude and disrespectful. There have been 2 very minor altercations at our last two visits and the staff have completely over-escalated the situation as a matter of showing their power. It's just not been enjoyable and it will most likely be the last time we will be going. Disappointing from a place that we used to love so much.
Been a long time since I attended a club night here but in my younger days it was a favourite. Visits now are for gigs. Good little venue. Even if your at the back of the room you'll have a great view of the stage.
Good place to drink a beer/Longdrink and go dancing. A lot of young people (
So what can I say "after leaving the Eminem concert where myself an a pal hadn't drank any alcohol because we were at the front. We left early as had to get changed for the after party and looking forward to a beer only to be greeted at the door by a RACIST BOUNCER we asked him why we couldn't come in he said "we were to drunk" lol so I explained that couldn't be the reason as hadn't had a drink all night he stood there intimidating me as I'm only 5ft 5 and said piss off you ENGLISH Cu*** your not coming in. I'm not one to argue so just moved on but thought others should know what I experienced from the very rude door staff.😡
First time out in Glasgow for a friend and I. We walked up, two bouncers said "go on in ladies", we started walking in as a third one said "stay and talk to us." We said "maybe on the way out, we're keen for a drink", he followed us and said "no you have to stay and talk to us" we laughed awkwardly but he was insistent so I asked why, he wouldn't say, after feeling uncomfortable we left and we certainly won't be back.
