Gokarna Beach - Review

The Gokarna Beach, also known as Indian beach is the most popular as well the most dirty amongst all other beaches. Pilgrims visit this beach as it is closest to the temple resulting in it being crowded most of the time. The waters here are not suitable for bathing but it’s still a nice place to visit.

  • It's near to temples ..has a bit of religious atmosphere. The beach in itself is nice and clean... mostly visited by the local crowd too.. Good places to eat present alongside the streets. Local shopping can also be done here

  • One place that you should visit in your life time. They provide the best food even though the prices are high it is worth it. The view from those shops are good. The vibe that Gokarna provide is priceless. Don't go solo go with friends. Not a family kind of area.

  • Calm beach, one of the interesting things that you can look out for is phytoplanktons. If you will rub the water vigorously on your hand during dark night you might be amazed to see little spark. It seems the phytoplankton increases during winter and the entire beach stretch glows. Though the glow might be very less ( visit paradise beach nearby during night to check out the glow)

  • The waves are beautiful. But the only problem is it’s a very religious part of Gokarna since the temple is close by and a lot of rituals are being carried out at the beach. Pretty close to it is the Kudle beach and Om Beach which are pretty secluded and indeed very beautiful too!

  • It's a good beach. Over all clean but not very beautiful. (other beaches bear by are more beautiful.) you have a bazar near by. Parking facilities are there. Snacks are available bear by. And temple is also there near by. Life guards are on duty in case of any issues. Not recommended to take bath here as tides are quite high.
