About Half Moon Beach, Gokarna

A relatively secluded beach located next to the more famous and crowded Om beach, the Half Moon Beach has a lovely crescent shaped shore with fine sands and clean waters. There are shacks where you can relax and sip a chilled beer if you like. Some also play soccer and volleyball here as the sand area is quite big. One can also take leisurely barefoot walks on the beach- the sand feels wonderful under the feet.

Half Moon Beach, Gokarna Reviews

  • Wonderful beach! From all the beaches in Gokarna, this is definitely my favorite. It is a more secluded, small beach with almost nobody. There is a lovely, basic place to stay in little cabins with good food and drinks. You can do nice walks to the other beaches and be sure to visit the om beach viewpoint on the way. If you like peace and quiet, this is the place to be!

  • Nice view best if you visit for sunrise and if you stay for entire night in tent its gets really crazy cool breeze and tides. The path up to here from Om Beach is very narrow and be careful on the rocks in water as they are very sharp and tides are rough you may get injured. I got 2-3 cuts in the leg with in seconds due to tidal push on these rocks. More than that we have to walk back to room where we are staying. So keeping these things in mind be safe & cautious. Enjoy yourself visit...

  • The trek from OM beach to half moon beach is something one should never miss. The views there are breath taking.while trekking from OM breach take the rightmost trail which will take you to a dead end. But you do not want to miss the views there. It's like you are taken to some other part of the world. I would strongly recommend starting trekking from kudle beach to the farthest beach which is the paradise beach. Morning 6-6.30 is the best time to start. Happy trekking!

  • Awesome place.. good to view sunset.. rock climbing can be done.

  • Isolated beaches. You have to hike a long path to reach here. Not many people are here. Only one shop is available here. So you can have a nice time enjoying the beach here
