Pancakes In Paradise, Gold Coast Reviews
Been here a couple of times. Had the $10 all you can eat pancakes (plain with butter and maple syrup). Nice, cheap breakfast. Come out in a stack of 4 and then you can ask for more if you like. Pancakes aren't anything special but they taste good and are nice and thick. Decor a little outdated. Staff have been friendly and provided good service.
Good range of fattening foods. Service was good, but the waitress said she was tired, which is fair enough. The portion sizes were so big I wish I didn't eat food for 2 days prior to my visit. The softdrinks didn't taste the nicest, but that doesn't matter, because I have diabetes now. Eat here if you dare. I will again, once they release me from hospital.
I was so excited to try their delicious looking pancakes. I ordered a nuttela pancake and when it came it looked just like the picture. As I took a bite of the pancake it tasted salty. I informed the staff but he said it comes premixed like that. I was so disappointed that the pancake I was waiting to eat tasted so bad! The only thing that covered the salty taste was the ice cream on top! Would not come here for desert. But the other meal we got was egg Benedict’s which was good we finished that and that pancake was fine. So I don’t understand why the staff member wasn’t able to provide better service. It wasn’t like I was making it up,he just dint seem to care that the pancake tasted like that.
I had the Nachos . They are the biggest plate of nachos that I have ever had. I loved it. Best value for money. I was to full to eat dessert but I will go back. We had an Entertainment book voucher which was even better. I also liked the decor and the old feel to it. I was in a private booth and it was sweet. The staff was lovely too.
Ok to be fair they do great pancakes including really fantastic light fluffy gluten free ones that make you wonder if they are really gluten free (yes that good!). Cheapest table (or bar for that matter) alcohol on the coast by a long shot, friendly efficient service but besides the pancakes in all their sweet and savoury variations the menu is looking pretty tired and basic but still generous and old style family orientated. Decor really looking dated, not quite enough to be retro chic just yet unfortunately but close.....
