Genesee Park in Golden, USA, allows you to step into a wilderness and meander through the woods. Spread across a vast land of 2,413 acres, it is known as the largest park in Denver Mountain Park System. It was built in 1913 and got added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The park includes Genesee and Bald Mountain that offer many trails. These are perfect for a challenging hike through the woods. As you walk along the trails, you will find a herd of buffalo and elk grazing on the grasslands. If you further explore the area, you will come across the historic Chief Hosa Lodge, built in 1918, along with the Chief Hosa Campground. There is also a huge picnic shelter built in stone during 1939. You will find clean restrooms here while meandering through the park. • So amazing to see these buffalo and they had babies too. I've never seen buffalo in the wild like this. It was truly a beautiful sight to see. There is a parking area then you get out and walk down a trail a little bit to get to a good viewing point. The whole area is maintained well. Great for children too.

  • Absolutely beautiful. No picture can capture the natural beauty of this amazing park. It was a very peaceful and fun experience. Well worth your time to take a few hours hiking around and taking it all in. Just amazing views. You have to see it for yourself.

  • Coming over the hill and seeing that beautiful mountain range. It is breath taking. I love Colorado.

  • Very nice campground. Bathrooms/showers were nice (not vault toilets so that is a plus!) Great location to just go on a mini adventure an an easy drive to Idaho Springs / Central City.

  • Beautiful place. Great hike or there's a nice walking path where you can try to see buffalo!
